A Motivational Second Annual Doctor and Staff Appreciation Night

Fisher-Swale-Nicholson Eye Center (FSN Eye) held their second annual Doctor and Staff Appreciation Night at the Kankakee Hilton Garden Inn November 8, 2017, an event that celebrates referring doctors and staff.

FSN Eye has striven to create the best patient experiences for over 34 years and a huge component of that is the coordination of care between referring doctors and our eye center. From the time a doctor refers a patient to our practice, their staff and our staff are working together to ensure a streamlined process for patients. Our patient success stories would not be possible without the individual contributions of our network of referring physicians and their staff.

“It’s a pleasure to be involved in patient care, but patient care is not without its challenges,” said Dr. Jerome Swale, FSN Eye’s surgeon. “It’s important to feel encouraged and what better way than to work on yourself and your goals.”

Dr. Swale’s words were a perfect segue for the evening’s special guest speaker, motivational speaker and former Chicago Bears player Matt Mayberry who gave a speech about the power of growth through goal setting to the audience of doctors and staff.

Special Guest, Motivational Speaker Matt Mayberry’s Words of Inspiration

Mayberry broke goal setting into three easy steps – set goals, visualize the most transforming one, and make smaller actionable goals to achieve the bigger goals. His approach to goal setting is detailed in his book Winning Plays: Tackling Adversity and Achieving Success in Business and in Life, which every attendee received a copy of as a gift.

“It’s not the achievement of the goal that matters most, it’s the man or woman that you become in the process of achieving that goal that is the most important thing,” Mayberry said. “True meaningful success comes when you look to grow yourself.”

“One of the most phenomenal gifts we have as human beings is the ability to make a choice each and every day. The fact of the matter is that when we stop our formal education we stop growing and learning,” Mayberry said. “However, the best of the best people (who are the most successful) are obsessed with growing themselves every single day. They are lifelong learners.”
